Blue to purple, perennial native to moist and wet meadows of the plains and montane zones. Thought to be deer proof. Blooms May to June. Prefers sandy-clayey soils. Can be divided easily once established. Erect foliage makes for a great compliment to more formal gardens, wet zones near drain pipes and ponds.
