In March 2018, the CoNPS board awarded a Mission Grant of $700 to the Colorado Foundation for Agriculture to support the printing of their April 2018 Colorado Reader on Native Plants. The foundation produces seven 8-page educational newsletters each year that contain information on different agricultural topics. The April issue is focused on native plants and discuss such issues as the difference between native plants and invasive plants, why native plants are important and their role in the ecosystem, low water native plants for pollinators, and the importance of native grasses. The Foundation plans to print 60,000 copies and distribute them to 1,500 schools in Colorado.
