2022 was an active year for the Conservation Committee.  We contributed four articles for our Conservation Corner column in Aquilegia covering subjects from using the iNaturalist app to fens, alpine ecology and the threats to Parachute Penstemon.  We wrote four letters of public comment on the spring BLM gas lease, recovery plan for the Parachute Beardtongue, the ozone effects of oil and gas development, and also conducted a study of and wrote comments on a dispute between a private developer and the town of Twin Cities.

In addition we signed on to letters written by other conservation organizations on a variety of subjects from a proposed land exchange at Willow Creek to the protection of old growth forests.
