Established in honor of the late Dr. John W. Marr, Professor at the University of Colorado and first President of the Colorado Native Plant Society. Grants of up to $2,500 are awarded for field or laboratory research that advances knowledge on the biology of Colorado's native plants and contributes to their conservation.

Grant Eligibility & Conditions

  • Applicants and advisors must be members of the Colorado Native Plant Society.
  • Awards may be used for travel, lodging, supplies, and expendable equipment. Awards may not be used for wages or overhead.
  • Awards may be the partial or sole source of funding for the research.
  • Within one year, recipients will provide CoNPS a written report and photographs for use in publications and present at the CoNPS annual conference or a chapter meeting.
