A deer resistant plant, branched and leafy below, with long leafless stalks bearing yellow or yellow and red-brown flower heads that have drooping rays surrounding a long, red-brown central disk. Typically close to 18″ tall, but may reach 3 feet. This is a drought tolerant plant that withstands competition, and may crowd out neighboring plants. Adapts to many soil types.
