The Colorado
Native Plant Society
works to encourage the appreciation and conservation of the native plants and ecosystems of Colorado. The Society identifies habitat, ecosystems, and threatened or endangered plants; acquires land; participates in governmental and educational programs; encourages the State of Colorado to enter into cooperative agreements with the United States concerning threatened or endangered plants; and cooperates with other organizations with similar purposes.
The Colorado Native Plant Society is open to everyone -- professionals and amateurs, experienced botanists and beginners -- all who are interested in the flora of Colorado. Come join us as we work, study, and enjoy the flora of Colorado.
In collaboration with seven regional chapters, the Society sponsors dozens of field trips and workshops every year, hosts an annual meeting, maintains a specialized bookstore on the flora of Colorado, provides research grants, publishes the newsletter Aquilegia, and much more.
Consult the list at left to find Chapter and Society activities in which you are interested, and join us in protecting and enjoying the native plants of Colorado.
Members receive the Society Newsletter, Aquilegia, and have field trips and programs available to them free, receive significant discounts on numerous botanical publications offered through the Society Bookstore, have specialized workshops and an Annual Meeting available to them, and more.
